Recently I had dinner with my friend Joanne. As we were driving to the restaurant she told me about a game she had been playing with her daughter earlier that evening. The game was simple. In turn, each would tell the other "You're my...." or "I love you like a...." and would insert the name of a delicious food or treat. For example, "You're my marshmallow" or "I love you like a chocolate train."
How absolutely perfect!!! I believe in food as a language of love. And this simple game distills that belief into a fun way of letting others know how much they mean to us.
The morning after dinner with Joanne, she sent me a heartwarming text that put a smile on my face and set the tone for the rest of my day.
"The game with Maylah (which we did again this am) was like....
You're my Maple Bacon Donut...
You're my Bees Knees...
(Back and forth)"
